Optical Communications
The optical infrastructure is based on state-of-the-art OTN+DWDM (Optical Transport Network + Dense Wavelength-Division Multiplexing), fully programmable, flexible, highly scalable, low latency and high-capacity lambdas transport capability, over a dedicated 25 km optical fiber link connecting both campuses. This DWDM system supports multiple multiplexed 100Gbps channel traffic for 5G+/6G services, enabling the 5G+/6G network to function as a unified system with latency below 0.1 ms and to connect both data centers.
Optical Network
In Campus Baix Llobregat, we distinguish two main elements: the Point of Presence (PoP), which enables the connection between both campuses and the Data Center node, in charge of connecting the PoP with the data center. In the PoP, there are two photonic switches, containing all the optic and networking elements, while in the DC node, there is only one.
